Jack C. Hayya is Professor Emeritus (since 1 July 1998) of Management Science at Penn State University and winner of that University's 1996 Graduate Faculty Teaching Award. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois (1952), an M.S. in Management from California State-Northridge (1961), and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from UCLA (1966). His research interests lie in the areas of production and inventory management, applied statistics, supply chain management, and food safety. He has published in Accounting Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, Operations Research, Econometrica, Operations Research Letters, Naval Research Logistics, Journal of Operations Management, Production and Inventory Management, Production Planning & Control, International Journal of Production Research, Computers and Industrial Engineering, Computers and Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Omega, Stochastic Models, and Decision Sciences. He has been an Associate Editor of the latter journal (1984-1995), and Area Editor (1990-now) for Production and Operations Management. He is a Fellow of the Decision Sciences Institute (since 1990); was chair of its Publications Committee (1991-92); and vice-president at-large (1992-94).
