ECNS 440: Industrial Organization
Course Description: In this course you will examine the operation of many real world businesses and industries. You will also examine government policies and their effects on business. Policy issues include mergers, price fixing, consumer protection, monopolization, pollution laws, etc. Theory-policy-evaluation is the framework used to examine each case. First, economic concepts and theory relevant to the topic will be discussed. Second, the intent, application and results of public policy are presented. Third, the consequences of firm behavior and government intervention will be evaluated.
