        Recommendations

When you embark on an online learning journey, you can typically begin wherever you want and progress in whatever fashion you choose. However, it has been our experience that learners would like some direction in getting started since it is easy to become overwhelmed with the amount of material available for the course. Please follow the Course Schedule in order to complete your work and submit your assignments on time.

1)          Read the Course Syllabus carefully and determine the requirements for the course

2)          Complete the CourseTalk tutorial and remember to access the CourseTalk site for this course at least once per week. This is your forum to post questions and discuss course related matters with your peer learners and Professors. Remember, this is a course related electronic forum, not a place to chit-chat! This is also the site where your Professors will place comments and tips.

3)     Begin with the Overview. Read this section thoughtfully. This section includes the Overview, the Definitions, Theoretical Approaches, and References* on electronic reserve.

4)     Once you have completed reading all of the sections in item Number 3, you should be prepared to answer the overview questions.    Thoughtfully read each of the Overview Questions. Formulate your answers and email them to your Professor.

5)               Read the HIPPA section.

6)               Thoughtfully read each of the HIPPA Questions. Formulate your answers and email them to your Professor.

7)               Review the Ethical Model for Ethical Decision Making**.

8)               Explore the Sample Case Analysis.

9)            Assess the Sample Case Analysis' graded Rubric.

10)          Select one Ethics Case from the six available. Analyze the case using the Ethical Model for Ethical Decision Making** and the Sample Case Analysis as your guide. Submit your analysis via email to your professor.

11)          Once you submit your analysis, the Ethicists' web site becomes available to you. Review their analysis of the case and compare and contrast your analysis with theirs. Submit your work via email to your Professor.

12)          Select another Ethics Case from the remaining five that are available to you. Analyze the case using the Ethical Model for Ethical Decision Making** and the Sample Case Analysis as your guide. Submit your analysis via email to your professor.

13)          Once you submit your analysis, the Ethicists' web site becomes available to you. Review their analysis of the case and compare and contrast your analysis with theirs. Submit your work via email to your Professor.

  14)   Good Luck!

*You must read the references on electronic reserve; this is required. There is not a textbook for this course. You should also read as many of the other references as possible to gain the understanding necessary to develop and enhance your ethical decision-making ability.
