1.       Geoff Child’s Tibetan Diary, and the videos The Art of Dying and Tibet’s Sacred Mountain all portray a less idealized vision of Tibetan life.  All three show how integral Tibetan Buddhism is to the life of all Tibetans yet present it in a far less glamorous light.  Using at least one example from EACH of these works describe how Buddhism shapes the lives of the average (non-elite) Tibetan.  In particular, how does Buddhism shape the non-sacred sphere of Tibetan life in unexpected ways?
