1.      Tibet experienced a wide variety of political, cultural and social changes in the 20th century. Choose THREE key turning points (with at least one being pre-1939) that best describe Tibet’s evolution. Your essay should be supported with specific examples from the Tibetan Diary (or The Search for the Panchen Lama) and any of the films shown in class (e.g. Inside Tibet, Tibet’s Hidden Kingdom, China Invading Tibet, Tibet 1951, Unconquerable Tibet, Shadow Circus, Sun Rises Over Tibet).
