RESEARCH: Tibetan Muslims

Most recently, my research has focused on the Tibetan Muslims based on multi-lingual sources, archives and interviews across six countries and three continents. I've published several essays and articles on this topic that have appeared in Journal of Asian Studies, Cahiers d’Extrême Asie, and Himalaya.

The monograph, Islamic Shangri-La: Tibetan Muslims and the Himalayan World, 1600-1960 has just been published by University of California Press (September 2018). A free ebook version of this title will be available through Luminos, University of California Press’s Open Access publishing program.
