Undergraduate Student Researchers: The involvement of undergraduate students in the research labs is strongly encouraged by our faculty. It provides the students with more hands-on experience in the labs and application of what they have learned in thier courses. It also provides an opportunity to expand their knowledge into areas not covered in the standard courses. Since the work in my research lab deals with the synthesis and handling of air and moisture sensitive compounds, the students working with me will be utilizing Schlenk line techniques under inert atmosphere or vacuum. Students will also be involved in all aspects of the projects: literature searches, project direction and development, and manuscript development upon completion of projects.
