    Fall 2006 Semester
Lecture:  Thursday at 4:15-5:05 in 143 Hawthorn

Course Description:  This course is designed to integrate academic advising with select sections of PSU 003, the first-year seminar course. The intent of the program is to provide first-year students with the opportunity to develop ongoing, meaningful relationships with academic advisors and to acquire the tools and strategies necessary to make a smooth transition to a university setting.  To achieve these goals, faculty and staff selected to teach sections of PSU 003 share a common syllabus and serve as advisors to students enrolled in these PSU sections. In addition to topics covered in individual course sections, group classes and activities are incorporated throughout the semester to bring all sections together in an effort to further expand the students' connections with their peers as well as with other staff, faculty and resources on campus.
