In the summer of 2011, I was invited to participate in a weeklong workshop: Composing for Multi-Channel Sound Systems with Hans Tutchku, Professor of Composition, Harvard University. The Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hosted the event, and I was thrilled to work alongside some of the most innovative young voices in contemporary electronic music. Byten was the piece that I composed over the course of the week - it was originally performed on a 32 channel electro-acoustic diffusion system in the studios of the the EMPAC. Mixed down to two channels here.
