April 14. Don Swaim, editor of the Ambrose Bierce Site, has announced his new article on "Ambrose Bierce Alley," the graffiti-marred corridor in San Francisco. One can find photographs and Swaim's analysis here.

The ABP Journal has released its third issue, "Bierce's Civil War: Historians Respond."

October 2007

October 11. Director Leor Baum has announced the completion of a new short film adaptation of “The Moonlit Road,” the classic 1907 short story by Ambrose Bierce. Leor explains: “This is a modern adaptation that is meant to stay true to the original story while incorporating expanded themes and situations.”

September 2007

September 1. Don Swaim, editor of the Ambrose Bierce Site, has announced the publication of a six-part article about Bierce's 1913 disappearance. The essay, authored by amateur historian Leon Day, describes Day's personal investigation into Bierce's final days.

June 2007

June 1. Heyday Books has announced the release of Essential Bierce, a selection of writings by Ambrose Bierce. John R. Dunlap edits and introduces this anthology for the "Essentials Collection," a series presented in part by Santa Clara University. The series showcases California authors "whose works have gained and deserve international recognition." The ABP Journal will review the collection in its Fall 2007 issue.

May 2007

May 15. The ABP Journal is pleased to announce that its Fall 2007 issue, "Bierce's Civil War: Historians Respond," will feature essays by professional historians on the subject of Bierce's war stories and memoirs. The issue will also include the second installment of Robert C. Evans's annotated critical edition of "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge."

December 2006

December 20. The ABP Journal has released its second issue, "The Legacy of Ambrose Bierce: Soldiers, Civilians, and Scholars." The issue features four original works of scholarship, reviews of five new books, and the first installment of Robert C. Evans's annotated critical edition of "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge."

September 2006

September 15. The University of Tennessee Press has published The Short Fiction of Ambrose Bierce: A Comprehensive Edition, edited by S. T. Joshi, Lawrence I. Berkove, and David E. Schultz. The three-volume edition will be reviewed in the fall 2006 issue of the ABP Journal, due out in December.

August 2006

August 15. The University of Tennessee Press has published The Devil's Topographer: Ambrose Bierce and the American War Story, by David M. Owens. The book will be reviewed in the fall 2006 issue of the ABP Journal.
