SCRC holds several annual events where the Club members participate as a group. These activities are, in general, designed to encourage and spread the model airplane hobby. The hobby involves construction skills as well as flying skills. It further involves each person in the technical areas of mechanics, electronics, and aerodynamics. The activities and their specific purposes are described below.
This event, in addition to providing the club members a chance to show off their models, is a rare opportunity for the public to observe many of the varied aspects of the model aircraft hobby.

Each year, the SCRC club members set aside one Sunday
in June that is devoted to getting the club members together as a group to
share their Model Aircraft interests and experiences. A food concession
is set up by the club members so that the members and their families can spend
the full afternoon at the flying field if they so desire. In addition to
the flying activity, many discussions ensue on the construction, trimming, and
flying of the many model types that the members have. Web pages showing pictures from recent Fun Fly
