Henry
Loewen's Giant Aeromaster
When
we fly, we all risk some form of damage. After all, what goes up must come
down! In this case, Henry had a beautiful flight with his new Giant
Aeromaster built from a kit by Great Planes. The plane flew very well
until it came time to land! The following photos tell the story.

is preparing the Giant Aeromaster for flight. Woody Struble is
providing some assistance in handling the giant bird. |
|
| The
engine starts quickly and the plane is ready for Henry to take it
off. |

is enjoying the flight while two spectators, Al Niessner and Sam
Stitzer, stand by to give any "needed advice". |
|
| The
Aeromaster has "Landed", but things don't look
right! Woody is going out with Henry to inspect the
aircraft. Fortunately, the pilot is able to walk to the
aircraft to assess the damage. |

|
| Well,
maybe the Aeromaster is not all in one piece. Better check for
any spare parts that are laying around. |
|
| Henry
makes a quick assessment and determines that maybe the damage is not
too bad. Meanwhile, Others look for any parts that may have separated
from the airplane. |
|
At
first, the damage resulting from the landing looked bad from a distance.
Upon closer inspection, the damage was found to be manageable. The final
result is that Henry made the repairs and was back in the air with the Giant
Aeromaster in a matter of days rather than weeks.
