SCRC 2001 Fun Fly

Flight Line Activity

The best part of the day for most of the modelers comes when they get a chance to put their airplane in the air.  The following photos show some of the flight line activity when the models are flown.  They also give a view of the area surrounding the SCRC flying field.

Woody Struble is leaving the pit area with his 9' Piper Cub.  He does an extremely good job of flying.  He can really wring out the cub just like you often see at full size air shows.
This picture of Woody's takeoff with the Cub provides a nice view of Nittany mountain in the background.  Don't you appreciate the wide open flying space we have as members of SCRC?

While Woody is taxiing into the pits (see Woody and Cub in the background), Henry Loewen is getting a flight in.  Requires a great deal of concentration.
The Cub has returned to the pit area and Woody is coming to shut it down.  Another great view of the field and the surrounding area.

Jeff Favuzza demonstrates the confident, easy approach to flying.  Too bad we cannot see the airplane.  I'll bet it is not a slow one!
Jon Polay says to hold on for a minute, he will be back as soon as ... and will be on the flightline.
