State College Radio Control Club Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 Meeting Minutes

Ron Lueth called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.  No guests or new members in attendance.

·         The minutes from the November 1st meeting were approved.

·         Treasurer’s Report. The gym rental fee for November and December to OLV was paid. No new income for November. Al Jones distributed copies of his Register Report for 1/1/2011 through 12/5/2011. Due to low interest rates, Al advised not to open a CD savings account for 2012.  Lynn Zinsmeister made the motion and members voted not to get a CD. Al advised the treasury balance and his report was approved by members.

·         Old business –

SCRC 2012 Officers. Jon Guizar advised that the election committee for 2012 officers received only four responses for officer candidates. Jon and Al Jones agreed that Jon will be the candidate for Treasurer for 2012. The three other officers agreed to stay in their current positions if elected. Jon requested nominations from the floor but no one responded so the slate of officers stood as:

Ron Lueth – President

Rob Krankel – Vice President

Jon Guizar – Treasurer

Daryl Allen – Secretary

Jon Guizar – Newsletter Editor

Al Jones moved to accept the slate of officers. Motion carried. The recommended slate of officers was voted by acclimation. Records will be transferred from Al Jones to Jon Guizar. We will have an audit of our financial records, using Al’s 2011 register report for reference.

Web Site Hosting. Todd Cook and Henry Margusity met our provider two weeks ago. We will be paying Center of the Web $60 per year plus a $15 per year domain name registration fee. As long as we don’t post streaming videos, we will have plenty of space for our web site.

Ron provided some information from the officer’s meeting of 11/29/11. We will make every effort to follow the agenda at monthly meetings and try to limit business to one hour. Members should e-mail Ron week prior to each meeting with subjects for the agenda. For anything not on the agenda, Members may bring up new business or share information in the open floor segment of each meeting. These items will not be voted on until the next meeting, unless the members present vote to suspend the rule and address urgent items.

SCRC’s 2012 winter banquet will be held on Saturday, February 11th at Celebration Hall in State College. Ron advised that a $100 Bartender charge applies if we chose to take advantage of that service. Al Jones moved to pay this fee. A.J. Jaffe seconded the motion. Motion Carried. Ron also advised that the hall would charge $1.25 per person for coffee service. Al Jones made the motion to pay the fee for 20 people. Motion carried.

·         New business –

Jon Guizar will implement an “Application and Dues Renewal” form for 2012. We had an example of a form from another R/C club and we will likely use the same format. This was something that was also discussed in the officer’s meeting and we determined that this is the most efficient method of collecting accurate contact information for each member. We will also be verifying the AMA membership status of each club member. This is something that can be done on AMA’s web site.

·         Open Floor Discussion –

Al Niessner had a request from Park Forest Elementary School to arrange a Delta Dart program. There will be three sessions beginning on January 26th. If there are any members who can help out, please contact Al.

In the absence of our Vice President, Rob Krankel, Jon Guizar asked for suggestions for programs or presentations for 2012. No one had any new requests.
