Wilbur
Dennis Coder August 2, 1943 -January 15, 2007 Wilbur D. Coder, 63, of
Bellefonte, died on Jan. 15, 2007, at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born in
Bellefonte. His parents, Maurice and Mickey Coder, preceded him in death. On
April 28, 1973, he and his wife, Diana, were married in Bellefonte. He graduated
from Bellefonte High School in 1961. For the past 28 years, he was employed at
EMF Systems of State College as their production supervisor. He loved his work
and considered his co-workers as his family away from home. Will also worked
part time for Novosel Instrument Shop of Pleasant Gap. He previously worked for
10 years with the Pa. Game Commission as a deputy officer. Their cats, Romeo and
Miss Kitty continue to be a great source of comfort. Will enjoyed life and spent
his spare time doing the following: riding his motorcycle, doing yard work,
watching Nascar and discussing every lap of each race, Thursday lunch with his
wife and the girls from GOH at the Chinese Buffet, bus trips, especially to
Atlantic City spending hours watching the activities on the boardwalk, and
Sunday morning breakfast with friends. His greatest passion was designing,
building and flying radio control model airplanes. He was a member of the State
College Radio Control Club for almost 20 years and spent a great deal of time
watching and sharing with his flying family. Surviving relatives are Molly and
John Woodring, Fred, Mark, Grant and their families; Donald Coder, Tasha, Amry
and Joshua Yearick; Barry and Kathleen Coder, Justin and Janelle; Kirk and Erin
Coder, and Colin, George Coder (deceased), Sharon Rider and John Coder. With
respect to his wishes, Will requested no viewing or funeral service. In lieu of
flowers, any memorial gifts may be sent to the SCRC, in care of Al Jones, 320
Carogan Drive, State College, PA 16803. The club will be assisting Diana in
making preparations for a memorial fun fly to be held in his honor later this
spring. Additional information will be posted on their website,

Will's Last Airplane
One very special prize was given out the night of the 2007 SCRC Winter Banquet. Diana Coder donated the last plane Will had built, but had never flown. It is a 78 inch span parasol wing design which Will had shown at our club meeting last June. Her stipulation was that whoever won it must finish it and fly it. Daryl Allen was the fortunate winner of this beauty.
