Naples Florida Fun Fly
February 14 & 15, 2004
Collier Model Aeronautic Club
As part of a trip to Florida to escape the State College winter and visit friends in a warmer climate, I was able to attend this fun fly. In anticipation of a weekend of flying, I took my Slow Poke and two electric planes, the Dusk Stick and Dandy from Mountain Models along. When I arrived at the flying site, there were 4 Corsairs in the air flying in a rough formation. As I got out of the car, I noted that there was a substantial wind. I went to the registration desk and asked if there was any hope that the wind would subside. It was suggested that it would most likely not subside but would get worse as the day went on! I decided to wait and see what would happen before I took my planes from the car. As expected, the winds increased as the day went on! I never took any of my planes from the car all during the trip.
Read here what the local paper had to say about the event.
