This rare jade tray (actual size 17"x12") has been recently excavated in Caesarea, Israel. It was probably used in the first century. It is not easy to see, but if you look carefully at the top left side of the tray you will find the Latin words: DO-'T M--S W-T- THE N-TT--- LIO-S Archeologists are quite sure that the full inscription was: DON'T MESS WITH THE NITTANY LIONS |
