CH, EbaumsWorld, and NewGrounds

College Humor, NewGrounds, and http://www.ebaumsworld.com/ are probably the three best websites to cure all boredom and free-time illnesses.

Created by Josh Abramson and Ricky Van Veen to remain active together in 1999,
CollegeHumor is an entertainment site as well as full it. CollegeHumor is divided into sections including Videos, Pictures, Articles, Girls, and CHTV. The Pictures section is the section most often used and visited. With pictures constantly being uploaded, it gives visitors and members a lot more things too see and a lot more time to kill. I personally like to see the College! category of the picture section only because I would like to see what my coming years in Penn State are gonna full of.
CollegeHumor is web hosted by hostventures and is part of the Connected Ventures, LLC business which controls the privacy policy, which states that they will receive all information given to them by us, and that third parties may as well receive this information so be careful of the information you put up. If you were to go on the website, you wouldn't find a lot of ads, or they are just placed in places that are not that visible.

NewGrounds is a whole other sort of website. It is more towards the adult audience because of its out in the open not-for-kids material they place on the website. The website was created by Tom Fulp in Glenside, Pennsylvania on July 6, 1995. But the actual NewGrounds was created in 1995 under the name NewGeo, and it was a magazine with very much the same content as it has now that you could put in a magazine. Newgrounds primarily hosts Adobe Flash Player animated games and video. What I believe that separates NewGrounds from all the other sites similar to it, would be two things. One being the fact that members are able to create their own movies and games and upload them to the site to be watched/played and reviewed by visitors and other members. The second thing that truly separates this site would be its "submission/rating system. This intricate system of member submission and reviews deals with if a member-submitted file, be it video or game, remains on the website or not. Through this, within a 1-5 rating, the videos with the lowest ratings (0-1) are "blammed," which means that they are being removed and they are sent to the obituaries seciton of the site. A rating higher will safely secure the material until done away with by the author.
NewGround's private policy states that they do obtain all information provided at registering to the site, but third-party companies (the ads on the site - Gorilla Nation, Max WorldWide, Double Click and all of their affiliates) are unable to reach any personal information like name, address, telephone number, etc. at all. The site also does not follow the Online Privacy Protection Act guidelines because some of its content is not suitable for children. Also, all member submissions remain in control of the members, but everything else from NewGrounds remains owned by NewGrounds.

Ebaum's World is yet another great site like NewGrounds and CH, providing tons and tons of vidoes in a variety of categories. Though overall NewGrounds is a better website in my opinion, I still visit Ebaum's World a lot more than I do NewGrounds. I guess because it feels more simpler and the site makes me feel comfortable. Don't ask why it does, it just does, like why does chocolate taste so good? It just does. Well Ebaum's World provides many games, many videos, and it sort of revolves around a "funny" theme. Most of the videos you see first on the website are most likey to be found in the Hilarious section of the site. I guess that's also why I am more into this site, the stuff I enjoy seeing are right in my face as soon as I go to the site.
Ebaum's World, created by Eric and Neil Bauman and was launched in 2001. This site is very controversial due to the fact that the site's content is taken without permission and placed on the site for visitors and members to watch and comment.
Ebaum's World is kept running through Handheld Entertainment's ownership. Not much is known about this site, their private policy page does not really provide any helpful or very informative inforamtion. They run flash animated games and video clips.
