keeping culture

Culture can maintain an ethnic identity by simply being in the background. Having the types of food, teaching the children the same morals and codes but not pressuring the child to give up being assimilated to the culture where they live. The language, sadly, may be lost but the food, art, morals and even the family does not have to be lost. The idea is not to pressure the new generations into 'be Italian' (for example) and only be Italian. The new generation have a stronger connection to the country they live in (the new world) where as the older generations have connections two both countries (the old world as well as the new world).

The most important emotion showing in this photo is the expression on the fathers face. That is a face of a proud father, and it is something that every child wishes. Because of this, I feel as though a lot of the audience can relate to this photo. Write about a moment in which you tried your hardest to impress your parents or about a time when your parents were proud of you.

Write about something or someone who has inspired you. Seeing the Matterhorn in Switzerland inspired me to attempt to climb as far as I could on it. I'm very sorry for this being late.Matterhorn.jpg

Here is my attempt at trying to make a better bottle rocket. Inside the tape are 12 black cats and many smaller bottle rockets wrapped around a large one. When I lit this it flew around and hit me in the shoulder and exploded. I still have a scar from the burn.  Recount a time where you've done something reckless and ended up paying the price.
