Experiments with VPN

OK, I finally tried some things with the PSU VPN today that were rumored to be possible, but not verified:

1) Wireless in the tower...it DOES exist...signal strength isn't great, but it works
2) VPN at home, does indeed make "Get It! @ PSU" links appear in Google Scholar
3) Tried using the LIAS-VPN connection to get to our intranet--does NOT work, still get the friendly verboten message in big bold letters

One question left... what is the LIAS-VPN connection intended for? Does anyone know?

I think the LIAS-VPN is there specifically so that you don't have to authenticate into individual databases. I just tried it from home, and it worked nicely for me!
