These images are thumbnails that link to much larger JPEG files. The files, which range from 35K to 75K, are as large as possible to allow for adjustment after downloading without noticeable image degradation. The images may be freely used by anyone at Penn State as long as they're used for legitimate, non-commercial business in Penn State's best interests. Some of the images have download links beneath them; this link will download a layered, usually higher resolution version in a zip archive. Recently a colleague with the Libraries' Virtual Reference Service mentioned that they've informally used one of the lions as a service logo but didn't want to restrict use by others. I have to applaud the attitude, and plan on keeping the lions open for use without restriction. A few of them are labeled due to earlier agreements, but when possible, I'll remove any restrictions that I can.
