This blog will be a collection of posts and links related to one of my primary research themes: the use and design of legal mechanisms to create incentives for desirable behavior. I plan to use it primarily to memorialize interesting events and ideas that may evolve into future research. As a registered patent attorney and business law professor, my major research area has always been patent law. That will likely be the focus of this blog as well, but other subjects, such as my work on FDA regulation, will certainly be evident.  I intend the posts to be apolitical and respectful of others' research.

I should note that I have been encouraged to start this blog by my spouse, Ellysa, who is always more forward thinking when it comes to technology.  She is an Information Literacy Librarian at Penn State.  If you want to peruse something more interesting than intellectual property law, I suggest you read her blog.
