PRS in Technology Classrooms vs Other Classrooms

| | TrackBacks (0)

PRS RF will be installed in all CLC-managed Technology Classrooms at UP - so how do you know what rooms are Technology Classrooms? The answer can be found at the Technology Classrooms Scheduling Page.

If the room you're teaching in is on any of the lists on that site (ITEC, STEC, MTEC, or Other STEC), then PRS RF will be installed and supported by CLC.

If you're in a room that's not on that list, then you can still use PRS if you have a laptop, PRS receiver, and projector. CLC will be maintaining a loaner pool of PRS receivers (email clickers@psu.edu to request one), and MediaTech can provide laptops and projectors for credit instruction (email mtsseq@psulias.psu.edu to schedule equipment).

Here's a copy of my "Intro to PRS" PowerPoint presentation. It's geared towards instructors who will be using PRS in their classes, and those who will be providing technical support for the system.

I'll be posting documentation on using PRS with ANGEL some time in the next few weeks.

Classroom and Lab Computing will be holding training sessions for instructors who are planning on using Interwrite PRS RF, Penn State's newly-adopted Student Response System, in their classes this fall.

We will be holding four sessions throughout August:

Thursday, August 2: 9 AM - 11 AM, 7 Life Sciences

Wednesday, August 8: 1 PM - 3 PM, 7 Life Sciences

Wednesday, August 22: 9 AM - 11 AM, 7 Life Sciences

Thursday, August 23: 1 PM - 3PM, 7 Life Sciences

All experience levels are welcome. You will learn how to use the PRS RF software, the PRS Toolbar for PowerPoint, and how to use PRS with ANGEL.

If you plan on attending a session, please RSVP to clickers@psu.edu with your name, classes in which you'll be using PRS, and which session you plan on attending.

If you are unable to attend one of these sessions, but would like to learn how to use Interwrite PRS RF in your classes, please email clickers@psu.edu and we can arrange a one-on-one training session.

Thanks!

Welcome!
