PRS v4.41.0016 is now Available

The latest version of PRS, v4.41.0016, is now available for download from the CLC Clicker Homepage. This version fixes several stability and reporting issues across all platforms, and the Mac client is now a Universal Binary, so it runs much faster on Intel-based Macs.

CLC will be installing this new version on our podium machines for the spring semester. On your personal or office machines, I'd recommend sticking with the current version you have installed through the end of the semester, and upgrading for the spring.

You can find the complete release notes from the company here.

PRS v4.40.0005 Available

This is a bit late to post, but the latest version of Interwrite PRS, v4.40.0005, is now available from http://clc.its.psu.edu/classrooms/prs/. This version fixes several serious issues with the previous version, and is the version installed on all CLC-managed podium machines.

New Version of PRS Available!

The latest version of the PRS software, v4.30.0018, is now available from the CLC Clicker Homepage. This is the version that CLC will be installing on all of our Mac and Windows podium machines in our Technology Classrooms for the Fall '07 semester. The most notable change for Penn State users is the addition of ANGEL exporters for exporting session data to the ANGEL gradebook. I hope to have documentation on how to use PRS with the ANGEL gradebook within the next week.

PRS in Technology Classrooms vs Other Classrooms

PRS RF will be installed in all CLC-managed Technology Classrooms at UP - so how do you know what rooms are Technology Classrooms? The answer can be found at the Technology Classrooms Scheduling Page.

If the room you're teaching in is on any of the lists on that site (ITEC, STEC, MTEC, or Other STEC), then PRS RF will be installed and supported by CLC.

If you're in a room that's not on that list, then you can still use PRS if you have a laptop, PRS receiver, and projector. CLC will be maintaining a loaner pool of PRS receivers (email clickers@psu.edu to request one), and MediaTech can provide laptops and projectors for credit instruction (email mtsseq@psulias.psu.edu to schedule equipment).

Presentation: Intro to PRS at Penn State

Here's a copy of my "Intro to PRS" PowerPoint presentation. It's geared towards instructors who will be using PRS in their classes, and those who will be providing technical support for the system.

I'll be posting documentation on using PRS with ANGEL some time in the next few weeks.

If you are unable to attend one of these sessions, but would like to learn how to use Interwrite PRS RF in your classes, please email clickers@psu.edu and we can arrange a one-on-one training session.

Thanks!
