First impressions count--you've heard it said so many times. Making an excellent first impression is essential for a strong (and successful) interview.  This includes your appearance, your timeliness, but most importantly, your interviewing skills!

Interviewing well is a skill-- and skills are developed and refined through practice.  Before heading into your next interview, spend 30 minutes using our on-line resource: InterviewStreamThe link to use this easy resource is on the Career Services home page under Mock Interviewing, or use the direct link below.

InterviewStream
provides video interview technology so that you are able to practice for any internship or job interview with the use of a computer and webcam.  This tool provides feedback and tips of non-verbal behavior and communication missteps.

Note: You must have a pc or laptop with a webcam, or contact the PSH Career Services office or library to borrow a 'loaner' webcam.

  • Click Create Account, complete the short profile, enter your PSU email address        (PSU email address is required to use the system) and password.
  • Then Click Register.
  • Review the interview tips and advice links.
  • Pick your questions from the many available in the database.
  • Conduct the virtual interview!  The interviewer will ask you a question and you have no more than 2 minutes to respond. When finished with your response, you will be able to review your response, then retry or move on to the next.
  • When you are finished, you will receive an email with a link to view all your responses. You can also email your interview to the Career Services office, or to a faculty member, or other mentor/ adviser for their feedback.
Remember...you can retry specific answers or entire interviews. This will allow you to get some realistic practice in answering the questions interviewers typically ask.

This is just a brief overview of the system. Check with the Career Services Office for more details and policies/procedures for borrowing a webcam.
