Scott McDonald and I are teaching C&I 597C together this spring. The class is titled, Disruptive Technologies in Teaching and Learning. We are really looking forward to it ... we've decided on the themes the class will explore and have setup a class blog space. We also did a podcast a couple weeks ago that aims to expand on what we think the class is all about. It might be worth a listen.Recently in Teaching Category

It might be worth a listen.I wanted to point you to a couple of resources that go along with Paula Bach's presentation. The first is a QuickTime version of her PowerPoint slides. Its only 800K, so it’s an easy and quick resource to grab. The second is a presentation that I may or may not do in class -- its the World's Quickest Web Presentation ... really just a quick and dirty overview of the whole process associated with planning your site ... also discusses the ADDIE model, things like color selection for interfaces, navigation concepts, and a reminder of the importance of the storyboard. It is linked here as a PDF … Anyway, I thought these would be helpful.
Use this PDF of a Storyboard to plan your iMovies. It is clear to me that you all are not using story boards to plan out your movies. It is a reuirement of the large IST Challenge, and you really ought to use storyboards whenever you start a media project ... just good practice. In addition, here is the PDF of the Preproduction presentation we used in class. Again, just some best practices you should all follow. Finally, here is the PDF of the Roles and Responsibilities for your video project. You can also download the Word version to type it.
