This a call for participation ... I'd like to see some of our courseware in iTunes U be opened up. Currently if you jump into our space you see exactly 10 open courses. I know there are instructors out there who have content they'd be willing to share openly.

I know we aren't going to have a space that resembles the Open University ... their mission is openness.

It wouldn't kill us to have something that at least resembles Arizona State ... they only have 12, but it is an interesting cross section of materials. Help me discover some new content from within PSU that could be placed in the Commons.

I was just looking over some of the new features in iTunes 8 and one of them is a claim to be more accessible to those with disabilities. I am hopeful this is a move in the right direction and I am really interested in how this plays out in the PSU iTunes U environment. Anyone know?

I just blogged this over at my other blog but thought I'd cross post. Looks like ETS Talk is one of the featured podcasts in the new iTunes U Directory. Very cool! I wonder if anyone will call the hot line?

As many people on and around campus knows, PSU has been involved in a pilot implementation of Apple's iTunes U service for about a year. Apple did something very cool today -- they opened a public iTunes U directory. No need to repeat myself, I already blogged this over at my other blog ... take a peek at my post, iTunes U and Discoverability

Last week I was interviewed for an article the Collegian was doing on podcasting at Penn State titled, Lectures could be available for iPods. Riveting title, but it is a decent article. I worked hard with the staff writer that she understand the pilot nature of our project. Nice to see a little positive flow.
