I just wrote a short piece about how to get the video files you want on the iPhone over at my other blog. If it is of interest, take a look.

Yesterday I was lucky to be included in a lunch bringing about 2 dozen librarians together to talk about the past and to look to the future of the relationship between PSU Libraries and ITS. ETS has been doing some work with the PSU Librarians -- the most notable is the release of the Library FaceBook Application (BTW, it was installed by over 900 people in the first two days it was available). I have found that working with the people in the Library that we have so much in common -- namely the interest in social tools, aggregation, RSS, taxonomy, and so much more. We sort of think the same way. Something I would never have guessed a year or so ago.

So we all sat down at the Nittany Lion Inn and talked about opportunities for joint research, work, and opportunity. Lots of good stuff emerged and it was a great conversation.
I spent a few minutes providing an update to the e-Education Council today related to Digital Commons, Blogs, and the Community Hubs. I am linking it here as a PDF. Download file ... any thoughts for me, send them along.
Here is just the Digital Commons portion as a Keynote 08 file.
Take the video below and you can see why simple production is the new way to convey tough messages. The people that do these videos know what they are doing ... this is no different. I might even be able to share this video with my parents and have them really understand what the value with the Google Docs apps really is all about.
BTW, did you notice the new Google Presenter app available?
I just blogged about my thoughts on the new iPod Touch on our campus over at my other blog ... I also just came across a new plugin by SixApart that adds a new set of templates to MovableType that allows iPhone/iPod Touch users to mobile blog a heck of a lot more easily. I am convinved that as people begin to get the whole blogging thing and they have portable access devices we will see an increase in use on our campus of both ... why not let them use them together?
I just wrote about what I think will be the tipping point for mobile devices on our campus over at Learning and Innovation ... already a couple of interesting comments. We shall see how it all shakes down.
This morning I came across a little something from SixApart, the people behind Movable Type -- they make the blogging software we are using for the Blogs at Penn State. They've released a plugin that provides an iPhone/Touch specific template for authoring your blog. I still think once people on campus (a) get blogs, (b) realize all they can be used for, and (c) embrace these new devices we'll see a whole lot more mobile blogging.
We should have MT 4 running soon. Just a matter of time until students' thumbs will be tapping out posts.
This does nothing for me as I am a proud user of PSU IMAP mail, but I have heard people trying to make it happen. I didn't test it, just passing it along. If you need to sync with Exchange 2003, here is an option.
I was going to blog this weeks ago ... given so many peoples' frustration with email, this is an interesting concept. I wonder if I could ever pull something like this off?
I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the iPhone allows you to use curse words while typing. I didn't give it much thought until this morning when I bumped into this post over at the "peterme.com" blog space. Apple has allowed us grown up people to use bad words within our emails and doesn't treat us like idiots telling us they are misspellings. Most systems want to flag curse words -- I guess to encourage you to change them. I just thought it was interesting.
