Christopher R. Cook is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. His current research focuses on American foreign policy in Africa (especially the Congo) as well as media coverage of African conflicts. He has published work on U.S. policy in Sierra Leone in the African Studies Quarterly; East Timor in Asia Pacific: Perspectives; and compared the importance of institutional motivations to intervene in Kosovo but not East Timor in The Journal of Politics and Law. He will have an upcoming article about American policy towards Laurent Kabila in African And Asian Studies. He holds his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara and is originally from Boston.
