This is actually a blog that I heard about from Garrett because he used it for one of his assignments and I enjoyed reading it so I added it to my RSS feed. I liked this particular entry on resumes because I just finished writing mine for my freshman seminar class. I love that this guy incorporates useful information with some hilarious anecdotes. In this entry he stresses the importance of avoiding stupid errors by telling the story of a time when he wrote his objective was to work at IBM when he was applying at Amazon. I actually laughed out loud while reading this because I can just imagine the embarrassment of being confronted with this error. I just thought that this was an interesting thing to appear at the top of my RSS feed considering I spent a large portion of my day deciding what to include in my resume.

That was an interesting blog entry. He does make it very simple and also interesting to read. This would have been a good resource to use when I was fixing up my resume for my first year seminar class too. I think he does make some valid points, especially refraining from using "weasel" and "wank" words as he calls them. I think far too often we try and make ourselves seem better than we really are and just come off as a person trying too hard to get the job.
