The Graduate Program in Philosophy at Penn State

Welcome to the Lyceum, a blog dedicated to the graduate program in philosophy at the Pennsylvania State University.  Here you will find news and information about the life of the program and the lives of our students, past and present, local and abroad.

Our students will find updates about new initiatives in the program and about the activities of your colleagues, including recent placement and publication information.  Our prospective students will find information about the program, links to blogs of interest to our community, and announcements about the progress of the admissions process.  For the wider academic community, this site will serve as a way to publicize the work being done here in the Graduate Program in Philosophy at Penn State and the spirit of our community.

In an attempt to encourage promising students in philosophy from traditionally under-represented groups to pursue philosophy and apply to our program, we have created the Cultivating Under-represented Students in Philosophy (CUSP) program.

We hope you will return to this blog frequently to learn more about the program, keep in contact with colleagues and follow the life of philosophy here at Penn State.  We encourage you to subscribe to the blog to receive automatic updates as new information is posted.
