In the wake of the Specter town hall I blogged about here, I have been thinking about the underlying political ideology of those who are so angry about health insurance reform. I would characterize those who I experienced there as staunch libertarians. I wrote a blog post about the main problem with this political philosophy - a negative conception of freedom based on an understanding of the human subject as independent - for my latest contribution to WPSU.org.
