Shrink is a very simple yet very effective card. It is a
quick play spell card, which reduces the attack of any monster on
the field. This can result in many many combo’s. On its own, it
will be a -1, but if you are being attacked by an opponents monster
and you chain with shrink causing it to lose to your monster, then
it becomes a 1-1 and your opponent will take the battle damage. In
this scenario, it is slightly better then sakuretsu armor, however
you would need a monster on your field in this case.
The best thing it has going for it, is it can chain in almost any
scenario. If your opponent summons mobius and targets it, at
least you can reduce mobius’s attack by half, and with 1200 attack,
it may not be able to cause lethal damage to you. You can also use
it to instantly kill spirit reaper, and let your effect monsters
slide under messenger of peace.
You may have seen this card before. Can’t figure it out? This
card is nearly identical to rush recklessly for all practical
purposes. It fulfills the same benefits, only since it boosts
your monster instead of halving there’s, you gain a wall effect.
Here’s what I mean. I have a La Jinn on the field, and my
opponent has spirit reaper, don zaloog, cyber dragonx 2, and
just summoned mobius. Now, if you had the option of chaining
rush or shrink to mobius, what would it be? Chaining shrink to
any of there monsters will result in basically nothing, while
chaining rush recklessly will single-handedly prevent all of
there attacks from reaching you. Both will cause a 1-1 if mobius
was not summoned and your opponent attacked with cyber dragon,
but in shrinks case you will likely still not survive the
turn.
So, given that scenario, and most you will come across in this
game, rush recklessly > shrink. However, you will have to play
test this to find this out yourself. Sometimes it will be better,
other times it won’t be. It is also debatable to play this over
bottomless trap hole in the current meta. All of these cards
thrive on a “best situation” basis. However, it is certainly a sold
main deck option, play test it in your own deck to see if
it works for you.

Shrink, a very handy card in tight situations. This is partially
somewhat the quickplay of Riryoku (in a way). One flip of this
spell and one of opponent's monsters lose half its original attack
power. Very nice use when facing down a Jinzo or those Monarchs
roaming around.
Pros
- Quickplay spell
- Decreases one monster's original attack power by 1/2
Cons
- Only decreases original attack strength

Shrink, this is a pretty interesting card. This Quick-Play
Spell has the ability to cut a single monster's original ATK
in half. Pros and Cons.
+ Lowers original ATK of target by 50%
+ It's a Quick-Play Spell
- Useless against monsters with 0 or ? as their original ATK
- Equipped monsters keep the full equip power boost
On a final note, this is actually pretty useful in battle.
It can seriously weaken a strong monster in an instant. It
is great against beatdown.
