Wow! What a card! .....possibly.... This card has power currently
unmatched in the yugioh world. With the current uber chaos monsters
banned (bls and ced) this has no equal in power. It has 3000 atk and
def points, can trample, and no spell or trap cards can be played to
counter its attack. Well he has the drawback of being 2 tributes, but
that doesn't stop people from playing Dark Magician of Chaos because it
has great effects right?
Let me tell you, the fact that he is a 2 tribute is annoying, but not
the reason he doesn't see play in competitive decks...One of his special
abilities is that he CAN NOT under any circumstances be special summoned.
Which means you will ALWAYS be tributing 2 monsters on the field to summon
him (well outside ancient gear decks). So what does this mean? If he is
trap holed, fissured, or removed in any way, thats it, he's done, he will
never see play on the field again unless u somehow scoop him out of the
graveyard and re-normal summon him. If you use the easiest way to get him
out of the grave (monster reincarnation) that ends up being an 8 card
investment to summon him twice!!
My friends, its not worth it. I would play Dark Magician of Chaos
(or Blue Eyes White Dragon for that matter) any day over this tin can.
You may not notice it now, but that little restriction will hinder this card
FAR more then the trampling and attack negation bonus. All in all, I guess
there are far worse monsters out there for 2 tribs, but in competitive play,
no thanks...
If your going for an Ancient Gear deck build, nock yourself out... You won't
be winning any tournaments with or without this card in that kind of deck....

This week let's look at Crowler's favorite card, the Ancient Gear Golem.
3000 atk points, quite a plus just looking at the stats. 3000 points in both
attack and defense is nothing to discourage. However it is a two-tribute monster,
but used in an Ancient Gear deck it is definitely essential. The support given,
such as Ancient Gear Castle and Ancient Gear Factory, makes it quite simple to
bring out this behemoth. Also, being a machine-type monster gives it another
plus, with other support cards such as Limiter Removal. Not only is the attack point
stat quite a scare, but the Golem has two other special abilities. The first gives
almost no worry about being stopped by the seemingly famous Sakuretsu Armor. For
if Ancient Gear Golem attacks, the opponent cannot activate traps until the end of
the damage step. His second ability is another critical one. If he happens to
attack a monster in defense mode, he deals piercing damage.
As long as this monster is put into the Ancient Gear theme, it is essential.
Putting it into a normal advanced deck would probably not be all too wise.
Summoning a monster that needs two tributes does tend to be a task in today's
game. Without the main support, there are other monsters that could easily take
his place.

Ok...this card at first seemed like, meh. 2 tributes, been there done
that. Then as we look closer...we get all "ZOMG" but it really wasn't
that good untill recently. This card is like mirage dragon but with
trample, and your opponent can't activate magic cards...oh and it has
3000 atk points. this means...no defense vs a 3000 atk point monster. no
book of moon, enemy controller, mirror force, sakaretsu, no rush recklessy.
yeah...but is it worth it? it might be...but only in an acient gear deck.
much better choices for chaos decks or warrior. so basically this can be
great trade bait, but a must have in acient gear decks
