Crimson Duelist
Administrator Today we have a potentially deadly fiend card on our hands. This, upon release, was quickly used in place of summoned skull in the fiends decks... for a time anyway. This card will take on double the attack of a tributed monster, so in essence, tributing an 1800 power house of the time would yield you an overpowering brute with 3600 atk power! Obviously, the masses saw the potential and quickly tried it out... And they quickly realized why Summoned Skull is far superior. Although tributing a power house will give you an extra strong Great Maju, many times you end up tributing a utility monster. IE magician of faith, treeborn frog, night assailant, and the like. This results in an incredibly weak monster...I for one would rather have a monster with 2500 all the time, then 3000+ some of the time, and under 1000 the other half of the time. This card has no place outside of a fiend deck, where it is slightly more useful for necrofear food.

Another thing to consider is its weak def of 0, which will always remain, so if it ever ends up in def mode, your in trouble, especially staring down an Exarion or Spear Dragon... Give it a shot in casual though, its a fun monster to play, just not practical enough for any tier 1 decks...

Hm......0 atk and 0 def, what's the point? Take a close look into this creature and you'll find that it has quite a nice ability that allows it to boost its atk point by double the amount of the monster that was tributed to summon it. If you're looking for just the stat boost, you'll find it in this monster. Special summon a Cyber Dragon, then sack it for this beast and you'll have a 4200 atk point monster ready to bulldoze your opponent's life points.

Although this creature has a nice ability for boosting its attack points, that same ability is also seen as a major flaw. The only way for it to gain the stat boost is by tributing a monster in order to summon it. Once this card hits the grave, it's pretty much useless unless you can either:

1. Get it back to your hand (i.e. Monster Reincarnation)
2. Remove it from the grave as Chaos food

Even once it hits the field properly, with a huge attack power, it is still quite vulnerable to its effect flaw. The popular Book of Moon is one way to nullify this creature. Once it becomes face-down, its effect is cancelled, bringing its atk back to 0.

Another possible flaw for Great Maju is that its defense power remains at 0. Therefore if the opponent manages to cower this beast to defense mode, it's a sitting duck.

There are a couple of benefits for a creature like this. It is a fiend monster, meaning it would work nicely in a fiend-themed deck. If it hits the graveyard, it becomes useless.....or does it? RFG this monster as the food for Necrofear and you have just devised its unseen use. Great Maju is also a Dark attribute monster, meaning it could become easy food for a Chaos theme.

All in all this monster seem to be fairly decent. A one-tribute for pretty much an unlimited variety of different attack powers. I guess I could see the most use of this card in a general fiend theme. Sack those Goblin Elites for it to gain a 4400atk behemoth. However within most other deck types, there are better choices that could be picked.

Administrator Great Maju Garzett...i feared it once. then i realized that i's not so good. Granted it's the strongest 1 tribute monster...but it doesn't have an effect after wards. thus rendering it as useless as anyother offering monster with out an effect.

However this card is the strongest of the weak monsters...can you say beatdown? i can! say it with me..."Great Maju Garzett". easily able to rise above 4000 attack...special your cyber dragon...sac for this bad boy, and wham GOOD BYE JINZO, MOBIUS, ZABORG, insert strong moster here.

there really isn't much to say about this card except it can be used as a beatdown. this in my opinion is a must for fiend decks. or beatdown decks. if you're gonna deck this, you're gonna have to protect it...MBAS, decree, etc etc.
