Ceasfire is a very nice trap card. There are very few cards
that can disable face down threats, the best being Noc and
the second best being Mystic Swordsman lv 2, but this card flips
all face down monsters face up and disables their flips. Furthermore,
it deals 500 damage for all effect monsters. Genuinly, all mosters
being run are effect monsters, so usually you will take 500 for
all monsters on the field.
Does it have a place in advanced decks of today? Well, it depends.
Flip effects are no longer run in abundance, magician of faith is
the only one gaurenteed to be in your opponents deck. In a burn
deck, this is your coup de gra finisher, it will easilly do 2-3
thousand damage mid game when using a burn strategy. As for advanced
play, typically you will find despite its apparent usefulness, it
really is a bad draw. It's kind of like staring down a mobius and
zaborg, then top decking a nobleman of crossout, which might be the
worst feeling in yugioh .
Solid card in a burn deck, and relatively useful in your average
advanced deck. It is a solid side deck card though, worth a place
there incase your opponent run's a lot of flips and or face down,
if you side this in, make sure you also side in light vortex, they
combo well together.

This week we look at a trap card that deserves its place in
any and all burn decks.
Ceasefire is a trap card that has 2 very nice effects. First,
all facedown monsters are flipped faceup. Any flip effect monsters
will not have their effects activated. This is a very nice trick
for nullifying your opponent's Magician of Faith, Dekoichi,
Night Assailant, etc.
The 2nd effect of this trap card deals 500 points of direct damage
for each effect monster on the field. This works wonders when the
above effect occurs. All face-down monsters flip up, no effect,
and they lose 500 lifepoints for each of them (as long as they
are effect monsters, which usually are).
This card tends to be an annoying finisher (for the opponent. Not
suspecting a thing, the opponent places a facedown monster to
attempt to turn the tables in their favor, then you spring Ceasefire
and your opponent's plans have been foiled, and many times claims
a victory for yourself.
Burn deck: 5/5
Advanced: 2.5/5 (probably better as a side deck card)
Traditional: 4/5 (stops those Cyber Jars and Fiber Jars)

Ceasefire, it's a fairly powerful card. it can help you stop an
opponent's flip-effect(s) and do some good damage. well, not too
much to say before a pro/con list.
+ stops opponent's flip effects
+ 500 damage per effect monster on field after face-down monsters are flipped face up
- there must be a face-down monster on the field to activte this
- does no damage without any effect monsters of the field
- stops your own flip effects, too
so, all in all... we have a pretty good trap, it could actually
wind up as more of a 'flop' than anything else. all i can say i
use this card with caution.

Ceasefire - potentially one of the most powerful burn cards in Yugioh.
You can inflict up to 5,000 damage directly to your opponent, while
stopping all their flip effect monsters in their tracks. Well now...looking
at this card in a more realistic way...let's break down each of
Ceasefire's pros and cons.
Ceasefire inflicts 500 damage to your opponent for each effect monster
on the field - including your own. So, this card could easily deal
1,500+ damage in an instant - keep in mind that 98% of all competitive
decks have only effect monsters in them, with no normal monsters.
This card also flips up all monsters, and negates their flip effects
(if any). This is an incredible effect when timed right, stopping
Dekoichi, Gravekeeper Spy, Magical Merchant, even Old Vindictive
Magician and Slate Warrior. This is probably, despite its great lp
damaging effect, Ceasefire's best effect. However, remember this
effect goes both ways, so be careful.
Ceasefire is a great game finisher, and game breaker. Use Ceasefire,
flip their Dekoichi, inflict 1,000+ damage to your opponent, brain
control it and sac it for a monarch. It really isn't that bad a topdeck
in the worst situations - as long as you have Treeborn Frog on the
field you'll be fine.
Let's recap.
Pros
1) High LP damage
2) Negates Flip Monsters
3) Great game finisher
Cons
1) Not always the best topdeck
2) Can sometimes be bad for your flip effect monsters
Honestly, this card is underplayed, and I don't know why. Try
this card, I guarantee you'll like it.
