When this face-down Defense Position card
is attacked by your opponent's monster, you
can make 1 opponent's monster (except the
attacking monster) be attacked instead. While
this card is face-up on the field, you can
Special Summon 1 "La Jinn the Mystical
Genie of the Lamp" from your hand.

Wow, this card is wayyy over do! -=looks at the review team=-….
Anyway, we are back in business now! We have one of my favorite
cards here, though not because its useful, just because it has
cool effects and cool art ?
This is basically magic arm shield in monster form. If its face
down, and your opponent attacks it, it will flip, stay alive,
and you can redirect their attack at another of their monsters!
So is this any good? Let’s find out…
In the right situation, this is game breaking. Say a Jinzo
attacks this and you redirect it onto a mobius, and both die.
The next turn, you sacrifice this for your jinzo and obliterate!?
Well…. That would be nice in an ideal world…
In reality, most of the time this will get attacked and they
will only have 1 monster, and it will be destroyed with no
effect. And once it’s flipped that’s it; it’s totally vulnerable
for another attack or removal.
So, that’s all there is to it. Very fun in a casual deck, pretty
bad in a teir 1 deck your taking to regionals, not much else
to say.
Oh, supposedly you can special summon a La Jinn from your hand,
ha like anyone would try to do that. A weak friend from your
hand in a spell caster build, way to go Konami.

Ah, a somewhat new Spellcaster-type monster is what
we look at this week. When looking at Kaiba’s little
Spellcaster, La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp…..
ever wonder which lamp it’s from? Guess what……it’s this
week’s COTW, Ancient Lamp.
The stats of this monster aren’t all that great (900/1400).
However, the stats aren’t what make it good. The effect
is what this monster is known for. When this monster is
attacked while in face-down defense position, you can
designate an opponent’s monster as the target of the attack
instead. Now, I’ll admit that the first time I pulled a
Dark Spirit of the Silent from a pack, I actually thought
that the effect of that trap was the same effect…..that was
a mistake, lol. Well anyway, this is a very nice effect
when you’re being pounded by your opponent. Say your
opponent has Jinzo and Mobius, and you topdeck this card……
your opponent will regret attacking it.
This effect may seems awesome, but be sure to take into
account the consequences as well. For one, it must be
attacked in face-down defense mode. This leaves it easy
prey for the Nobleman of Crossouts floating around. Second,
the effect only works if your opponent has a 2nd monster
on the field.
Now, this critter has a 2nd special ability which lets
you special summon a ‘La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the
Lamp’ from your hand, when it’s on the field. La Jinn
is a monster that came with the Kaiba starter deck.
It’s a normal monster that doesn’t see much play these
days, so this 2nd effect isn’t used often.
Also, it’s time to take a look at its characteristics.
Ancient Lamp is a Spellcaster. Hm….must work nicely with
a spellcaster/chaos then right? Think again….although
it is a Spellcaster, it’s a Wind attribute. Hm….wind
monster see a slight bit of more support with the recent
structure deck, Lord of the Storm, but is still not
much to consider.
This card is decent, but not all that great.

ok...so what we have here is an interesting card.
very useful when your oppoennt has cards with the
same attack. such as jinzo and mobius. you could take
down both monsters. and if he attacks with his strongest
monster, then it get rid of that monster's attack, the
weak monster gone, and possible life points damage. if
he attacks with his weakest monster then the monster is
gone, and life point damage. but the strongest monster
will still get to attack
also when it's face up you get to special summon an
1800 monster...granted it has to be in your hand...but
it can do some good.
the major problem with this card....it has to be face
down. making it slow and nobleman will stop it from
using it's effect. but it's not a flip so it's not
gonna kill all the copies you have. but you have to
make sure he has more than one monster or it won't get
it's effect. it's interesting tech, but not good for
much else.

Ancient Lamp is a spell caster monster and a WIND type.
It is a holo rare card from the Shadow of Infinity sneak peek.
It’s a lv. 2 monster so it can get past gravity bind. It has
an effect that can block an opponent’s monster’s attack and
redirects to another one of your opponent’s monster. Also,
you can special summon a La gin, Mystical Genie of the Lamp.
Its first effect is the reason people might use this card.
Most people usually special summon cyber dragon then summon
another monster. Cyber dragon attacks flip Ancient Lamp and
Cyber will have no choice but to destroy that mon your opponent
just summoned. However, you may only be able to pull of this
combo just once or twice per duel. You can also use Tsukyomi
to flip ancient lamp to df mode. Then you can play his effect
multiply times. But your opponent may wise up and may summon
only one monster. Or just plays cross out or wicked flame
Berge bau. But who uses flamberge? Anyway, use this to tick
off beat downs and use it to stall. However, this card is not
useless after you use this card’s effect, you can special
summon a lagin mystical genie of the lamp to the field.
After that, you can Ancient Lamp for the rock Monarch or
Mobuis for a 4200 onslaught.
However, I don’t advise to use Ancient Lamp for La Ginn,
but for a stall deck, spell caster deck, or a defense deck.
You can get this to the field by flying kamari if La gin is
in your hand. But the main reason for this card is to stop
an opponent’s attack and re direct, hopefully destroying one
or both of your opponent’s monsters. However, this may be
a one-shot deal since its effect states that it has to be
in f/d defense for its effect to take place. But once it’s
on the felid, you may use it for Monarch bait or Jinzo bait.
Another good plan is to use Magical dimension, tribute lamp
after you use his effect. Hopefully, a monster on your
opponents side of the field was destroyed, now with Magical
dimension’s effect, destroy another card. Then you can
special summon a DM, and then if needed, play diffusion
wave cannon to destroy any remaining monsters.
Score:
Advance: 3/5/5 – Good in some decks, bad in others.
Deck it if only it is needed.
Spell caster deck: 4/5-It adds defense
Traditional 2/5- With Raigekie and Dark Hole,
it won’t last. And the effect will be lost.
SRY, if this review isnt as good as the other ones.
I've been busy with a play for a Drama camp.
