Alright boys and girls, today we have a few things going on. Firstly,
Hog didn't do a review this week, so I had to use one of my alternates
to replace him, the one and only hellfighter.....
So anyway, onto the review... My reviewers gave this card exceptionally
high scores, though I do not think it should be that highly rated,
I'll explain... I have had much experience with this card, I pulled it
when it came out, and immediately ran it ( I was very excited upon the
pull). Since, I have run it in 1's, 2's, and 3's, trying all avenues.
It truly was an unrivaled card back in the day. I remember I would
easily smash through any opponents monsters side from Jinzo, or any
kind of defense wall they had in my path. But, is it still good in
this format? Yes, but its waning in usefulness...
In a warrior deck, this card is amazing. Just ROTA it whenever you need
to ram a sorcerer or something. 2300 attack is tough to deal with,
it can also be used to sit on your field as an attack deterrent.
An excellent top deck if they are swarming, just let it sit and be
patient. In a regular deck it is of course still good, killing all
normal level 4 monsters. However, times are changing. 2 more useful
cards currently come to mind. Majestic Mech - Ohka
and Goblin Elite attack force. Ohka can deal with the stronger
threats too, like monarchs and jinzo who hit 2400, but then will
die off unless he was tributed. On the other hand, Elite attack force
has a good chance of survival if it attacks, but is unable to deal
with Chaos Sorceror. If I had to pick one of these 3 to run, it
would be Ohka, he's just new and improved... Goblin is a happy medium
between these cards though, and is pretty solid.
Some things to look out for though, would be running into a spirit
reaper, or scape goats. Both of these really screw over the old
Goblin force. Just play it smart if you are going to run it.
The other two cards have the added benefit of being chaos food
and necrofear food, respectively, so them hitting the grave is
not a total loss, while Goblin attack force falls short on both.
Once this card is in def mode, forget about it, you will probably
not see it in atk mode ever again, so make good use of it while
you have it.
This card is by no means bad, and will be helpful in most decks,
it just currently has 2 better cards outshining it... All 3 of
these cards are excellent in skill drain, along with chainsaw
insect and Fusilier Dragon.
For these stated reasons, I am forced to score this:
Advanced 2.5/5
Warrior 3.7/5
Skill Drain 4.5/5

Here we have the beatstick of the warrior kingdom. The birth
of this force brought new rise to the game. Before the release
of Pharaoh”¦s Servant, the strongest no-tribute monster was a fair
1800. Once the PSV set hit stores, this was one of the most sought
out cards. Goblin Attack Force is a level 4 monster with 2300
attack points. A monster that requires no tribute and has an
attack power that grand? There has to be some kind of drawback”Kand
there is. The defense points of this monster are as low as they can go,
0. Also, after this monster has attacked it must then switch to
defense position at the end of the battle phase. As another added
drawback, it cannot switch back into attack mode until the end of
your next turn. So basically it would just be a small pebble in
your opponent”¦s path.
The great thing about this card is that it”¦s not only the stats that
make it so great, pretty much every other characteristic of this
card gives it superiority in a wide variety of decktypes. Take
note of the monster type: Warrior. Warriors have hit a big time in
the game with many different strategies, most common being the
”„Warrior Toolbox.”¦ Slapping this card in the mix for the toolbox
deck is a basically a must. This card can be searched out via the
famous Reinforcement of the Army (due to its outstanding level 4
stature) in order to take down the majority of other level 4 and
lower creatures your opponent has. The also great Marauding Captain
would give this force an early strike.
Another great thing about this card is the Earth Attribute. Earth has
been an awesome attribute for quite some time. However it is
slowly moving to the backseat of the oncoming Lights and Darks, but
that really doesn”¦t matter. Earth is what gave rise to the game.
Many other decktypes tend to base themselves off of this attribute
(talking mostly about the beasts).
One other small note on a nice decktype to have this card in”K..Skill
Drain. As per how Skill Drain decks are supposed to work, you have a
2300 no tribute monster ”„ready to steamroll their life points.'
All over this card is awesome, despite its downfalls about its lack of
defense. When used correctly, this card is deadly.
Toolbox: 5/5
Skill Drain: 4/5

Goblin Attack Force (GAF) has a lot of potential do to its
2300 attack and lv.4 stat making it easy to summon. This card
is a warrior mon giving it support such as Reinforcement of
the Army or Marauding Captain. It being an Earth mon also makes
it better since when he hits the grave you can remove him for
Gigantes or the Rock spirit. But his true ability lies within
its attack. It has 2300 attack meaning it can take out a vampire
lord, Soul tiger, Battler Foot ball Guard, Cyber Dragon, Fiend
Mega Cyber, Other beat sticks, His rival, Giant Orc, and his
cousin, Goblin Elite attack Force.
Besides he can take out almost any 4 star monsters and below.
But he is changed to Df after the turn he attacks and his df is
0 meaning most monsters can beat it easily. But that could be an
up side. He can attack an 1900 attack slate warrior without worry
of losing 500 Attack power because he will be killed anyway. Once
he”¦s in the grave, you wont be needing to use a call of the
haunted or premature of burial because you can bring him back to
your hand using Warrior Returning Alive unless your in need of
your GAF.
Also he can defend your LP if you can”¦t get in an attack. (IE:
Your opponent has one f/d mon or more and many S/T”¦s on the field).
No four stars would attack this monster or be in attack mode against
this monster. Of course if he does attack and is changed to df
mode you can tribute him for a better monster or to get in
effects such as Canon Solider, Monster Gate, Creature Swap (If you
swap the right mon. IE: Your opponent has a face up Exiled force
switch GBA with Exiled. Sac Exiled so your opponent can not use
your GBA). But that combo is situational. So stick to more
suitable ways of tributing your df position Goblin such as canon
solider, tributing him for cards such as Mobouis Jinzo, Summon
Skull, Great Maju Garzett, and others.
Also GAF can be a great direct attacker. If you play Rush Recklessy
on GAF he will even rival the BEWD in attack power! Then you direct
attack him for 3000! Heck, that”¦s a ton of damage! A good thing
about this combo, Rush”¦s effect only lasts one turn and GAF
probably wont survive the next turn. Of course with a temporary
attacker with temporary 3000 attack points he can take out any
monster on the field. But what if the opponent only have f/d mons
and some scapegoat? You play Fairy Meteor Crush or Big Bang shot
on GAF and do some major LP damage on the scapegoats.
Another good combo is you use Skill Drain so GAF doesn”¦t have to
return to df mode and can keep attacking because Skill Drain
neglects the effect of ALL effect mons out on the field! This
is great if you play with similar cards like Giant Orc and Fighter
Lie Lei. You can most likely make a deck out of this combo.
This card is simply amazing because it has tons of attack power
even for a 4 star monster, doesn”¦t have a broken effect, and easy
to get out on the field or into your hands. You can summon it with
Marauding Captain, Familiar knight or get it your hand with
Reinforcement of the Army, or Black forest witch, and recover it
from your hand with Warrior Returning alive.
Its cons are that it can”¦t attack when G-bind is on the field,
has to go into df mode when it attacks. This creates a problem
when your opponent uses a Wabuko on your attacking GAF. GAF still
goes into df mode even if the attack did no damage. Next turn
your opponent can kill it with any monster except if he didn”¦t
draw a mon, didn”¦t summon a mon, or have an able to be summoned
monster in his hands.
My score:
Advanced:4/5-This card can kill almost any monster card that
comes your way even Cyber Dragons and Fiend Mega Cybers. This card
is great in Earth decks, warrior decks, beat up decks, and
Great Maju Gazett
decks.
Tradational: 4.5/5-Because you can play raigekie or dark hole and direct
attack with this card for tons of damage!
