Terrorking Archfiend

Crimson Duelist
Administrator Here's the deal boys and girls...If nobody picked up on it....The date today is June 6th, 2006, or simply 06/06/06, simplified to 666......""BOO"" Spooky eh? Halloween comes around once a year, but we will not see this date again for 1000 years... And so to brighten everyone's spirits, I decided to gather the team for a reviewers choice devil day review!!! The reviewers can review whatever card they want, so long as it is satanic in some way... In other words... a FIEND! Since in American Yugioh we translated devils into fiends!! So anyway, Orichalcos beat me to Ha Des, so ill be reviewing Terror King Archfiend!

(Dark/Fiend/4/2000/1500)
You cannot Normal Summon or Flip Summon this card unless you have an Archfiend Monster Card on your side of the field. The controller of this card pays 800 Life Points during each of his/her Standby Phases (this is not optional). When this card is specifically designated as a target of the effect of a card controlled by your opponent, when resolving the effect, roll a six-sided die. If the result is 2 or 5, negate the effect and destroy the opponent's card. Also negate the effect of an Effect Monster that is destroyed by this monster in battle.

Here we have a card made SOLELY for its own deck type, a sub-class of the classic fiend deck, the arch fiends!

You get a powerhouse monster here for no tribute! To make things better, this card has a 1/3 chance of negating its destruction AND destroying the card trying to do so! The catch is, you have to pay 800 lp per turn to keep it out. No problem, that's where 3x pandemonium and 2x terraforming come in, along with tons of other archfiend support, constructing the back bone of the archfiend deck! Stay away from this in standard fiend and any other deck for that matter... Try out Archfiends, they are fun, though I think traditional fiends are more competitive, ask Orichalcos for a duel :D

Archfiend Deck : 5/5

Standard Advanced : 1/5

Hades, lord of the underworld (according to Greek mythology). Due to today¡¦s ¡§day of the beast,¡¨ I thought it appropriate to review Upperdeck¡¦s version of this ¡§beast."

Dark Ruler Ha Des, lord of the fiend deck. A first look at this beast strikes fear, and it should. It¡¦s a level 6 monster with a hefty 2450 attack. Therefore this fiendish creature can take out a Jinzo or most other one-tribute monsters quite easily. That in itself is a fear to overcome¡K¡K..if you can. However, its true power lies in its effect. As long as it reigns on the field, whenever a fiend monsters destroys an opponent¡¦s monster in battle, it negates the effect of that monster. Build up a team of fiends on your field with this beast and it will strike terror into your opponent.

The main downside to Ha Des is that if it is sent to the underworld (graveyard in dueling terms), it cannot be special summoned from it. It may then however leave way for his other minions to occupy the field (in comes Necrofear, lol). This monster is a must have for a general fiend theme deck.

Fiend Deck: 5/5

Advanced: 3/5

Administrator ok...another last minute review by hog!

ok...Mazera Deville, i'm also gonna throw in his counterpart Archlord zerato

these 2 monsters are actually both strong and fairly easy to get out. All you need is warrior of zera and a field card. Terraforming gets the field card, ROTA gets warrior of zera. Also the warrior returning a live can get warrior of zera back from the grave. I think that Archlord Zerato is a little bit better.

Reasons: this card is better late in the game
These will most likely be summoned late in the game

now i knwo that the +3 advantage is like WOAH, but late in the game your opponent won't have 3 cards in hand, maybe 2 at most. however a free attack when all their traps are used up is incredibly useful. Archorlord is like a raigeki just by discarding a light monster. With solar power (i think it is) it can be deadly.

However, Mazera's effect is also deadly any time of the game, more so in the beginning to gain an immense advantage. Also it can be useful late in the game, to gain a card advantage and make your opponent top deck, but i still feel archlord is better, but not by much

Mazera = 4/5
