I was born in 1973 in a small town called Yenipazar.  I grew up in Soke. Then for my college education, I moved to the capital city of Turkey, Ankara, in which I became a nuclear engineer and lived more than 10 years. In year 2000, I made a step change in my life and moved to the US for my PhD studies.... I've been living in State College, PA since then....go lions :)

Penn State Mark

I am now enrolled in Nuclear Engineering program at PennState University. Here is my academic background:

  •  BS Thesis : HTR-600 Pebble Bed Reactor Design (steam cycle)

  •  Neutronic design:

    •   Few-Group Cross Section Generation

    •   Core Calculations

  • Balance of the plant design, heat exchanger design, & steam generator design

  •  MS in Nuclear Engineering, 1999, Nuclear Engineering Department, Hacettepe University, Turkey

    •  MS Thesis : Effects of Advanced Fuel Management Strategies on Fuel Burnup

  •  And here is the list of my research at PennState (go lions :) )

    •  Coupled 3-D Neutron Kinetics/Thermal Hydraulics,

    •  Developing fast running coupled 3-D Neutron Kinetics/Thermal Hydraulics,

    •  InCore Fuel Management,

    •  Neutronics analysis of High Burnup Fuels

    •  Beam Port Facility simulation for research reactors
