The development and evaluation of criminological theory, public
opinion research on crime and criminal justice, issues of punishment
in the American criminal justice system, institutional- and community-based
corrections, juvenile law and justice, and domestic violence.

Works in Progress
Book contract with the Civic Research Institute: A Community Approach
to Domestic Violence; This work draws on the author's role of program
evaluator for various domestic violence intervention strategies
(police, prosecution, victims' services, legal aid services to victims,
and batterer intervention programs) in which she has been engaged
for over four years. Data for the manuscript come from that collected
by the author in her role as program evaluator and as a member of
both the Dauphin County Domestic ViolenceTask Force and the Advisory
Board of the Greater Harrisburg YWCA's Violence and Intervention
Programs.
Book contract with Marcel Dekker: Handbook of Juvenile Justice:
Theory and Practice; Co-edited with Pamela Preston, author is lead
editor; This work will be chapters by invited authors with expertise
in a variety of issues in the area of juvenile law and justice.
The editors will contribute single chapters themselves, but will
also write introductions (to the text itself and to the various
sections of the volume), a concluding section, and will construct
a series of "critical-thinking-type" questions at the
end of each section.
