I just came across VisualCV - a website that allows you to build and hosts a multimedia resume. I don't find this service as interesting as I find the example resumes. Simple one-page resumes that may include images, video, or other media. It is a simple little presentation. Isn't it about time this started becoming the norm?
Penn State does have the eportfolio project. Is there anything we can learn by looking at the style of these multimedia resumes?
thank you, blog of brad
This is a good find Brad. I have an account and am experimenting with video and images. So far it downsizes things not just for preview, but in final presentation mode- guess I need to read more of the instructional particulars. Will MoveableType allow the creation of this sort of presentation space at Penn State? or do you think VisualCV is a service we could point students to?
I agree, this is a great find. I particularly like the concise points and screenshots/graphics on some of the about pages. I think does a fantastic job explaining how to create an e-portfolio or the uses for having one. There should definitely be a section for guidelines on how to edit and compress the media. I know that Vox does an impressive job handling media with a blog, but how does MT compare? Would presentation be accomplished with widgets or theme or both?
