You beat me to to the post Brad! Well played indeed!

I absolutely love the fact that Berkley was willing to dive into these waters. I guess there is some 300 hours worth posted class content from multiple areas of study. Impressive to say the least.

There are two things I really dig about this move.

1) It shows that Berkley is really making an effort to embrace the changing nature of their students, and the changing nature of the classroom.

2) It shows an incredible willingness to be open with knowledge that seems all too rare in too many institutions of higher learning. The level of effort and energy that people, even at our own Penn State spend to try and password protect and access restrict information WITHIN the university is astronomical. Berkley is not only saying we don't care if any of our students sees any of these classes, but we dont care if anyone in the WORLD sees these classes. And in an age when college tuition costs are skyrocketing, all of these lectures are available for free.

I'm very curious where Berkley plans to take this - and if it becomes more widespread, I'm also curious what the out of state kids dropping $15 grand on tuition are going to think =)

Regardless, I love the move, and I applaud Berkley for stepping outside the box.

P.S. Nothing takes the wind out of your sails like realizing you wrote "Berkeley" 5 times and forgot the second "e" every time. Sigh...
