The Origin of The Cup
Some background for the uninitiated ...
When Sarah and I got married, our families joined [a la Voltron] and a super family was formed which represents five of the Big10 conference schools.
The University of Iowa - Sarah & Blake Cooper
Penn State University - Lance & Ruth Cooper [my parents]
University of Wisconsin - Julie & Josh Bahr [Sarah's sister & her husband]
Purdue University - Tom Graham [Sarah's father]
Indiana University - Jan Graham [Sarah's mother]
On February 23rd, 2007 the Graham-Cooper Cup of College Football Supremacy was introduced. The golden chalice was promptly handed to Julie, for her Badgers had the best finish of the five competing teams. The Cup has remained in her possession for the last two years.
But things are about to change! This is the year of the Hawkeye.
I hope that you enjoy this site and share it with anyone you think would find it of interest. Send me photos of your game watch fun or any other images of school pride if you like. Please feel free to comment if you feel inclined. I only ask that you respect the fact that this is a family blog which is housed on my employer's server. So keep it clean people. It is easy to put down another team ... but more rewarding to hold up your own. After all it is the scoreboard that does the best trash talking and has the final word.

The man with the golden tongue does it again. Blake, your subtleties are over the top...(not so subtle). We will wait with great anticipation over what the scoreboards tell! Go IU...(as well as Brewers & Packers....what a sports weekend for the us....nothing like the aroma of brats and the roar of the crowd IN PERSON). This will require some quick changes from cream & crimson to blue and gold to green and gold in this 24 hr period!!!!!
Woo Hoo game #3....go IU!!!!!! What a season!!!!
This is to report that at some unknown point during February 2010, or maybe earlier, the G-CC Cup was taken in the dark of the day from its place of honor on the LEC mantle. I am sure that Buster, the vigilant guard dog, slept thru the entire event.
If the Cup is now residing in an Iowa abode, I hope it is well protected from lerking felines....
