My Heritage

2001. Machine pieced; hand appliqued; embroidered; hand quilted. 33 inches square.

This quilt celebrates my Slovak heritage and the needlework tradition of my ancestors.

The blue-and-white fabric was created in a batik workshop in Moravia.
The embroidered ribbons are from shops in various parts of Slovakia.
