Prxomity Explorer is a mobile application on Android platform to facilitate spatial sensemaking by integrating multiple social media resources, such as Facebook, Foursquare, Panoramio, and Wikipedia. The goal of the application is to help a user understand an unfamiliar environment from social, historical, and spatial dimensions, and elevate their perception of the environment from space, a concept that focus on more objective, geographical properties of a physical environment, to place, a notion that embodies the physical features, individual spatial sense, and social aspects of the environment.
