Grassroots Video Video

No, I'm not stuttering.  We created a Hot Team to explore the educational uses of Grassroots Video about two months ago.  In addition to producing a whitepaper, we decided to create a video that would cover the 7 things you (educators) should know about Grassroots Video.

Once this was uploaded to YouTube, my first tweet about it was something like "Look at the kind of stuff that I get to do at work.  Watch me in HD" with the link.

I've been thinking about that reaction and thought I'd dissect it.  First, this was mostly intended for a bunch of runners who follow me on Twitter, who don't really know what I do for a living.  To them, I'm a podcaster, but I thought I'd let them know that I'm involved with social media as part of my job as well.  I also wanted them to see what I look like and want people to watch the high definition version of the video (hence the "Watch me in HD" part).  But overall, I do feel lucky to be able to do this kind of work.  It's fun.  It's different.  And hopefully someone else will find it useful.
