No, I'm not stuttering.  We created a Hot Team to explore the educational uses of Grassroots Video about two months ago.  In addition to producing a whitepaper, we decided to create a video that would cover the 7 things you (educators) should know about Grassroots Video.

Once this was uploaded to YouTube, my first tweet about it was something like "Look at the kind of stuff that I get to do at work.  Watch me in HD" with the link.

I've been thinking about that reaction and thought I'd dissect it.  First, this was mostly intended for a bunch of runners who follow me on Twitter, who don't really know what I do for a living.  To them, I'm a podcaster, but I thought I'd let them know that I'm involved with social media as part of my job as well.  I also wanted them to see what I look like and want people to watch the high definition version of the video (hence the "Watch me in HD" part).  But overall, I do feel lucky to be able to do this kind of work.  It's fun.  It's different.  And hopefully someone else will find it useful.
This embed code may need to change if we move the permanent home of the TLT Banner to another location, but for now, use this code to embed a Flash movie that advertises TLT events such as the Symposium and Summer Camp.  It will be changed periodically to advertise our other open events, but once you embed this, you shouldn't need to update your code.  The new banner will show up when it becomes ready.  [We just change the Flash movie that you're pulling from the Symposium site.]

This code will work as a widget in MovableType:

Or use this code in other, more generic locations:

This is really new, so you may have problems depending on where you
put it, but give it a try.
