Elion, eLiving http://www.eliving.psu.edu/and Health Services all need to CURL UP IN A CORNER AND DIE.
Within the space of a week, I have had to struggle with all three of these websites, and the POUNDING HEADACHE they gave me was a lovely addition to my hacking cough and sore throat! Most recently, I have expericent the return of my old rival, eLiving, which almost makes me want to live off campus just so I don't have to deal with it! The site is just as annoyingly vague as I remeber it being (from my epic battle with it over the summer, but that's a story for another time) and currently I'm experiencing the familiar feeling of wanting to TEAR OUT MY HAIR.
I can only imagine how much more hellish this must have been when it was done on paper. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go play a game where I can ACTUALLY KILL THINGS *gnashes teeth, rages and fumes*

I agree. For an institution that values information sciences, Penn State's websites stink out loud. Why is it so hard to find simple information? Unfortunately, the reason for this mess is bureaucracy, which will never change.

I was dealing with eLion and UHS too. First, the ECON dept had to cancel the only section of ECON 002 that I could fit in my schedule for the Spring. They waited forever to tell me and when I tried to reschedule a different course, UHS tells me that I have a "hold" on my schedule. It's a good thing I didn't base IST on Penn State's ITS (eLion, ANGEL, etc) because I would've never come here if our College of IST functioned like PSU's internet applications do. Maybe IST should take over eLion and ANGEL. It'll be run better. (Well, maybe)

I haven't had that much of a problem with eLion. Angel, in my opinion, is utter crap though. I think it's funny how often the website is down, and how often they make posts on the front page regarding how the "login system is down". Perhaps I'm just stupid, but shouldn't they be able to have all of the bugs out of a login system by now? It seems to me that something so simple shouldn't go down as frequently as it does. Also, in my English class, it seems that one person never gets one of the mass-emails my teacher sends out. It becomes rather annoying.

elion, UHS, and Angel all suck. Penn State really needs to do a better job with its websites and course management systems. We pay to much money to deal with crappy internet services.

I had Tom Sennett schedule a class for me on eLion because he is in the Honors College and therefor would easily be able to secure a spot. The plan was that at the appropriate time, he would drop it and I would immediately schedule it Did this happen?-no. He was an ass and decided he was going to take the class himself. So now I sit on eLion all day desperate trying to get a spot.
