What are the advantages and the disadvantages of a weak US dollar?

Yesterday (9/20/07), for the first time in more than 30 years, the value of a Canadian dollar matched the value of a US dollar. The US dollar also lost value against the euro. -- So what? There are economic advantages, as well as disadvantages, to having a weak US dollar.
